A Vision for the Future; an Artist’s Renderings

The lasting vision for Hayfield Manor is to expand its role in providing education about the history of the house, the restoration project and the mining operations that are taking place on the property. Plans are already underway to consider the best means of mine reclamation and end-use, while ensuring that Hayfield Manor remains a vital and important part of the community.

While mining operations will continue for some years to come, the lasting vision for Hayfield Manor is to expand its role in providing education about the history of the house, the restoration project, and the mining operations that are taking place on the property.

The painting above represents a view looking north from the back of the manor, towards the Rappahannock River. Our vision for reclamation and future use includes a reclaimed pond area, surrounded by walking trails. A new dock and recreation area might be built, which would allow visitors to access Hayfield Manor by water. Sports and activities could occur on the fields along the River and activities such as fishing in the pond will help create an area for the community to enjoy and cherish for many years to come.
