Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. and Hayfield

In August of 2007 Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. held a member event at Hayfield. Over sixty members attended the event which included at tour of the house and grounds. The event took place in the evening and consisted of wine and cheese appetizers on the front lawn. Carol Roth – Outreach Coordinator – said, “The restoration work done on the house is superb and we are so pleased to see the estate open to the public. This adaptive reuse of such a historically significant property represents a big step in preserving our history for generations to come.”

Historic Fredericksburg Foundation, Inc. is located in the Lewis Store, the oldest retail store in the country, downtown Fredericksburg and is an active part of the preservation and historic community in the area.
